Introduced in 1999, 'Out of Yesteryear' is one of the greatest achievements in Hybrid Bracteata breeding to come out of our hybridization program. As you can see by the picture here, the bloom form in reminiscent of the Austin roses; fully cupped blooms filled with over 100 petals in a soft off-white. There is a pleasant fruity fragrance to the blooms that can be quite strong depending on weather conditions. Each bloom is 4 to 5 inches across, and are often produced in clusters of 3 to 7. The shrub itself grows to about 5 X 5 feet, with arching, graceful habit. 'Out of Yesteryear' is almost always in flower after its initial massive Spring flush. Should be completely hardy to at least zone 6b. A unique and truly spectacular rose.
